Résumé

CASSANDRA EWER has performed nationally and internationally as a soloist and with professional vocal ensembles including the Oregon Bach Festival, the Hilliard Ensemble, the Phoenix Chorale, American Bach and the Arizona Bach Festival, and the Austin-based vocal ensemble Conspirare; she has recorded with these groups on the Chandos, Hänssler-Verlag, and Hamonia Mundi labels. 

 

A graduate of the University of Oregon, Cassandra holds degrees in vocal performance and music education; she has been an active vocal soloist, music educator and conductor in addition to performing in concert halls worldwide.

 

Career highlights include the world premieres of Arvo Pärt's Litany and Krystof Penderecki's Credo (2001 Grammy-winning album), featured soloist on the 2008 Grammy-winning Phoenix Chorale album Spotless Rose: Hymns to the Virgin Mary, performances at World Choral Symposiums in Minneapolis, MN and Copenhagen Denmark, performances in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Paris Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Royal Albert Hall in London.

 

Cassandra is a featured performer on 12 professional recordings, many of them Grammy-winning or nominated. Her recording performances include Grechaninov Passion Week (2006 Grammy-winning album) and Northern Lights: Choral Works by Ola Gjeilo, as well as Barber: An American Romantic, Requiem – We Are So Lightly Here (Harmonia Mundi 2009), and the 2015 Grammy-winning album Rachmaninoff: All-Night Vigil.  Cassandra continues to sing professionally with internationally renowned Phoenix Chorale.

 

Cassandra lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her children and composer husband, Richard Ewer.
